I'd consider that an improvement, since the first thing I do is turn them off when I start the game. They're always glitchy and my fps takes a big hit whenever I look at them.

My base extends out from a beach, and I get eggs from dinos that are well over the water part. I did have to enable mating to get any eggs, as they lay an unfertilized egg almost never.

Geez, 200 taps? I'm feeling inadequate with my 4 taps now.

Can't say I've ever had that problem either, but a simple fix would be to have Troodons ignore armor on players they've knocked out.

I haven't heard anything about Ark 2 lately, and I wouldn't be surprised if we're still playing ASA long after October of 2024.

On PC you have to load the bait with the rod in your inventory and then move the rod to your hotbar.

There are weird things that happen around the volcano. There's a zone from somewhere near the bottom to three-quarters of the way up the top where it's like I'm in a cave. I can't see any supply crates and much of the surrounding vegetation disappears. I don't know if it's a widespread bug, as I haven't seen anybody else have that problem.

Some server updates are for official only. I didn't even bother with this one. The patch notes just say 'Performance Optimization' which means it's probably designed for the large populations that official servers get.

That's not going to be a popular position, but I think you're right. One of the problems with Snail's business model is that users only pay once for the game (and a few more one-time payments if they buy expansion maps), and then Snail is on the hook for the costs of running the servers until it shuts them down. Having said that, I don't think money will solve the present problems. The servers are running badly because of issues that are more technical than financial in nature. I suppose if Snail had more money it could've taken the time to test them properly before releasing the game, although I'm betting they'd have relied on real-world testing anyway.

If it's on your own server there's a field in your .arkprofile file that has your name. Don't ask me what happens if you edit that field, but that's where I'd start. Back up everything first in case it goes horribly wrong.

If a tribe has a limited number of pylons, then it can only build in so many areas. In theory, it'd solve the problem. In practice, I'm sure somebody would find a way to break the system.

I've received a mastercraft Anky saddle and a beaver with 46 points into oxygen out of my two attempts. There's good stuff to be had, but I suspect the odds require that we try many times.
